Liturgy of the Hours

The Liturgy of the Hours is the official prayer of the Church. Centered around the Psalms, these prayers contain readings from Scripture, intercessions, and prayers. They are said in union with the whole Church throughout the world and for the Church. All priests and religious make promises or vows to pray these prayers with and for the Church each day. As a priest, I pray five of these hours: The Office of Readings, Morning Prayer, Daytime Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Night Prayer. They don't take an hour to pray, but are meant to be prayed at different times throughout the day to sanctify the day. It is a great way to remind us of God's continual presence with us and to help us call out to the Lord continually throughout each day. The two main hours are Morning and Evening prayer. All the prayers are collected in books called the breviary, but the prayers for each day can also be found online here: http://www.ibreviary.com/m2/breviario.php
This is an Italian website, so if you're praying in the evening, check to make sure the date is correct before choosing an hour. To choose a different date, go to the "more" icon at the top of the page.
It may be hard to follow along at times, but I've chosen to post these prayers anyways. Please feel free to reach out to me with questions or if you need help, but I hope that some can draw some spiritual benefit from these prayers. I anticipate that I won't be able to post all the hours every day, but I offer you what I can.
